An Earth equivalent to Klah
Mix together:
2 Tablespoons sweet ground chocolate
1/2 cup dark cocoa
3/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon. dark instant coffee crystals, ground to powder
Small pinch of nutmeg
Use two to four teaspoons of the mixture per cup
of boiling water. Stir well.
The klah should be thick, much like hot cocoa.

I've been using chocolate syrup in place of the ground
chocolate as a quick
alternative, and made my klah with milk rather than water so it tasted like
rich
hot chocolate. But feel free to experiment :) (Go easy on the nutmeg and
cinnamon though; the first time I made my klah I ended up using too much and
got
something resembing thick Turkish coffee!)

M'kla's Klah
* 1 small-size jar Folger's Extra Dark Instant Coffee
* 4 envelopes Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate w/o marshmallows (important!)
* 1 small bar of dark or semi-sweet baking chocolate, finely grated to
powder
* 1/3 c Chocolate Ovaltine (Quick or Carnation Instant Breakfast will
work)
* 1/4 c Hershey's Chocolate Cocoa powder
* 2 tbsp cinnamon (adjust to taste)
* 1/2 tsp nutmeg
* 1/8 tsp ground cloves
Mix everything, and put in an airtight, opaque container
(keep it fresher). To
serve, put 4 tablespoons of the mixture in a mug, and pour boiling water in.
Stir until smooth, then let sit a bit to let the flavors mix. Good with cake!

...my own variation. My husband's an avid coffee
drinker, so I made a mix that
goes into coffee that approxiamates klah. The recipe for one cup is:
1 heaping tablespoon creamer
1 heaping tablespoon ovaltine chocolate mix
pinch of nutmeg
pinch of cinnamon
Not authentic, but sure tastes good!!!

Personally I've found that adding a tablespoon of
milk powder helps ... and/or
some horlicks powder (malted milk drink). The nutmeg's essential, and you might
want to up the coffee content too, especially if it's going to be a long night.
Ground cloves also work well.
I tend to mix it all up, and keep it in an airtight
container, and just keep
adding more to it as the level goes down, so the proportions vary somewhat.
However you make it, it's a must to drink when you've got an online gather or
hatching or other appropriate MUSH event.
